Racing a Motor Vehicle, Negligent Operation of a MV--Dedham District Court

Outcome: Dismissed, Pretrial Probation

Description: Client, a 24-year-old male, was charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, racing a motor vehicle, and speeding out of the Dedham District Court. As a result of these charges he was also issued an immediate threat suspension from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. Even with a spotty driving record, I was able to resolve this on the arraignment date by getting the racing charge dismissed, pre-trial probation on the negligent operation charge, and a responsible finding on the speeding. This resolution prevented any subsequent license suspensions from the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and avoided additional insurance increases that would have been incurred if an admission were made on either of the criminal charges. Results: Racing a Motor Vehicle, Dismissed; Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Pre-Trial Probation
